What are the responsibilities and job description for the Residential Construction Superintendent position at B&E Plumbing?
We are seeking an experienced, Construction Superintendent with a strong background in plumbing to oversee our residential new construction projects. You will be responsible for managing field operations, leading on-site crews and subcontractors, ensuring blueprint specifications are met exactly, and delivering projects safely, on time, and within budget.
Responsibilities:
- Project Oversight: Manage the daily operations of residential new construction sites from groundbreaking to final inspection.
- Team Leadership: Supervise, schedule, and coordinate on-site labor, trade partners, and subcontractors.
- Blueprint Interpretation: Read, analyze, and implement structural and plumbing blueprints, ensuring precise field execution and identifying potential discrepancies early.
- Quality & Compliance: Conduct regular quality control inspections, specifically leveraging plumbing expertise to oversee drainage, water supply, and venting system installations. Ensure all work complies with local building codes and safety regulations (OSHA).
- Communication Bridge: Serve as the primary point of contact between project managers, inspectors, and field crews, utilizing bilingual skills to eliminate language barriers on-site.
Required Qualifications:
- Experience: Minimum of 6 years of supervisory hands-on experience in the plumbing trade, with a strong focus on residential new construction.
- Leadership: Proven track record of managing and motivating field teams or subcontractors as a foreman, lead, or supervisor.
- Technical Skills: Expert-level ability to read, interpret, and explain architectural, structural, and plumbing blueprints.
- Organization: Must be well organized and able to maintain equipment, supplies material, and inventory.
- Communications: must have excellent communication skills and work as a team.
- Knowledge: Deep understanding of residential building phases, scheduling, and local plumbing/building codes.
- Must be willing to submit to a drug screening
Preferred Skills & Attributes
- Strong problem-solving abilities to resolve on-site conflicts or structural layout conflicts quickly.
- Excellent time-management skills to maintain strict construction schedules.
- Basic computer literacy (for daily logs, scheduling software, or email communication).
- Able to operate Procore and Smartsheet applications (a plus)
- Bilingual (a plus)
- OSHA safety certification is a major plus.
Salary : $85,000 - $109,999
