Overview
We are seeking a skilled and dedicated Ironworker to join our construction and manufacturing team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in structural steel installation, fabrication, and welding, with the ability to interpret blueprints and schematics accurately. Duties
- Erect, install, and repair structural steel frameworks using hand tools, power tools, and rigging equipment
- Read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and technical drawings to ensure accurate assembly and installation
- Perform MIG, TIG, FCAW (Flux-Cored Arc Welding), and welding to join metal components according to specifications
- Operate cranes, forklifts, plasma cutters, press brake machines, and other fabrication machinery safely and efficiently
- Measure materials using calipers, micrometers, and schematics to ensure precise fabrication and assembly
- Fabricate ductwork, piping, sheet metal components, and other structural elements as required
- Use basic math skills for measurements, calculations, and layout work during fabrication and installation processes
- Conduct rigging operations for lifting heavy steel components safely into position
- Maintain a clean work environment while adhering to safety protocols and ASME codes & standards
- Assist with mechanical tasks such as pipe threading, soldering, machining, and assembly of structural elements
Experience
- Prior construction site experience is highly preferred
- Proficiency in MIG welding, TIG welding, FCAW welding techniques, and plasma cutting
- Familiarity with blueprint reading, schematics interpretation, and basic math for measurements
- Experience operating cranes, forklifts, power tools, hand tools, press brake machines, and other fabrication equipment
- Knowledge of mechanical systems including pipe threading and ductwork installation
- Ability to work with sheet metal fabrication and assembly tasks in a manufacturing or construction environment
- Strong understanding of safety standards related to rigging, welding codes (such as ASME), and general construction practices
- Mechanical knowledge related to machining or soldering is a plus
