What You’ll Do

As a Staff Accountant, you’ll help keep our clients’ financial records accurate, organized, and decision-ready. Your responsibilities will include:

• Preparing and posting journal entries
• Reconciling bank, credit card, and general ledger accounts
• Supporting monthly and year-end closing processes
• Preparing accurate financial statements and management reports
• Processing and reviewing accounts payable and accounts receivable
• Categorizing income and expenses accurately
• Maintaining complete and organized accounting records
• Supporting budgeting, forecasting, and financial analysis
• Assisting with tax preparation and year-end accounting requests
• Researching and responding to accounting questions
• Identifying ways to improve processes, accuracy, and efficiency
• Collaborating with team members in our Virginia Beach office

You May Be a Great Fit If You...

• Have a bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field
• Understand journal entries, reconciliations, general ledger accounting, and financial statements
• Are comfortable using spreadsheets and learning cloud-based accounting software
• Pay close attention to details without losing sight of deadlines
• Communicate clearly and professionally
• Can manage your time, responsibilities, and priorities effectively
• Are willing to ask questions, accept feedback, and continue learning
• Take ownership of your work and follow through on commitments
• Want to pursue your CPA or another professional certification
• Enjoy helping people understand the story behind their numbers
• Are able to work in person at our Virginia Beach office

Previous public or corporate accounting experience is helpful, but it is not required. We are more interested in finding someone with a strong accounting foundation, a teachable attitude, and the drive to become excellent.
