Job Summary
B&B Energy Services is seeking a CAD Technician to join our team. This position will be responsible for performing a wide array of duties for mechanical piping projects including: creating precise and detailed 2D drawings for our fabricators, recording material and weld information onto drawings, reviewing drawings for accuracy, reviewing associated material documentation. Must work well in a team environment and have strong communication skills.
Responsibilities
- Develop detailed 2D CAD drawings using industry-standard software such as AutoCAD and ProCAD for mechanical or structural projects.
- Create accurate prints for fabricators to record material and weld information.
- Transfer all recorded data into drawings for turnover package.
- Review and verify material schedules, grades, and sizes according to client requirements.
- Assist in reviewing drawings for accuracy, consistency, and compliance with API and ASME codes and client requirements.
- Support the drafting process by maintaining organized files, version control, and documentation of all CAD work.
Skills
- Proficiency in CAD software.
- Experience with Bluebeam (for PDF markup) and Microsoft Products is highly desirable.
- Strong understanding of drafting standards, schematics, system design principles, and construction documentation processes.
- Ability to interpret technical drawings and translate ideas into clear digital models.
- Excellent attention to detail with strong organizational skills for managing multiple projects simultaneously.
- Effective communication skills to collaborate with multidisciplinary teams across various stages of project development.
