B&B Signal Company, LLC, a full-service traffic signal and conduit installation company serving the industry for more than 10 years, is seeking experienced Groundmen/Laborers to join our growing team. This position supports traffic signal installation, roadway infrastructure projects, and electrical construction activities. Successful candidates will be dependable, safety-conscious, and willing to perform physically demanding outdoor work while contributing to a team-oriented environment.

Essential Functions

  • Assist with the installation of traffic signals, streetlights, and highway signage.
  • Support the installation of pedestrian signal equipment, including pedestrian heads, push buttons, and related components.
  • Assist in stringing overhead wire and installing signal communication systems.
  • Support the construction, repair, and maintenance of power systems serving traffic signal infrastructure.
  • Load, unload, transport, and organize tools, equipment, and materials at job sites.
  • Perform trenching, digging, backfilling, conduit installation, and other general labor tasks.
  • Operate hand tools and power tools safely and effectively.
  • Maintain a clean and safe work environment.
  • Follow all company safety policies, procedures, and traffic control requirements.
  • Work collaboratively with supervisors, equipment operators, electricians, and crew members.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Required Qualifications

  • Previous construction, utility, electrical, or traffic signal experience preferred.
  • Ability to read and follow instructions from supervisors.
  • Strong work ethic and dependable attendance.
  • Ability to work effectively in a team environment.
  • Valid driver's license preferred.
  • Ability to pass any required pre-employment screenings.

  • Basic knowledge of construction practices and job-site safety.
  • Ability to safely use hand and power tools.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with supervisors and coworkers.
  • Ability to work efficiently under changing project conditions.
  • Commitment to workplace safety and quality workmanship.

Work Capacity Requirements

Physical Demands

Employees in this position must be able to:

  • Frequently stand and walk for extended periods.
  • Frequently bend, stoop, kneel, crouch, and climb.
  • Lift, carry, push, and pull up to 50 pounds regularly and heavier materials with assistance.
  • Use hands and arms continuously to operate tools and equipment.
  • Work in trenches, around excavation areas, and on uneven terrain.
  • Perform repetitive physical tasks throughout the workday.

Environmental Conditions

  • Work outdoors in various weather conditions, including heat, cold, rain, wind, and humidity.
  • Exposure to construction equipment, moving vehicles, traffic, dust, dirt, and noise.
  • Work near energized electrical systems and roadway traffic while following safety procedures.
  • May be required to work at varying heights and around aerial equipment.

Schedule and Workload

  • Full-time position with regular daytime hours.
  • Overtime, weekend work, and emergency response work may be required based on project schedules.
  • Ability to travel to job sites as assigned.
  • Ability to maintain productivity in a fast-paced construction environment.

Safety Requirements

  • Wear required personal protective equipment (PPE) at all times.
  • Follow all OSHA regulations and company safety standards.
  • Participate in safety meetings and training programs.
  • Report unsafe conditions immediately.
