Duties
- Operate heavy equipment such as dozers, loaders, backhoes, excavators, and front loader trucks to excavate trenches and move materials efficiently.
- Install sewer lines, water supply pipes, stormwater systems, and underground utilities according to construction plans and blueprint specifications.
- Read and interpret technical drawings, blueprints, and construction plans to accurately execute utility installations.
- Perform construction trenching while adhering to safety regulations and federal construction safety standards.
- Use utility locating tools and pipe lasers to ensure precise placement of underground utilities and prevent damage to existing infrastructure.
- Conduct concrete finishing, pipe installation, welding, plumbing tasks, and concrete forming as needed for utility projects.
- Follow safety protocols rigorously during all operations to maintain a safe work environment for yourself and teammates.
- Maintain detailed records of work performed, including inspection logs and compliance documentation for safety regulations.
- Assist with the operation of forklifts and other machinery required for material handling on site.
- Support pipeline installation projects involving oil & gas or other industrial utilities when required.
Qualifications
- Proven experience with construction site operations involving underground utilities or similar infrastructure projects.
- Skilled in heavy equipment operation including dozers, loaders, backhoes, excavators, forklifts, and front loader trucks.
- Knowledge of wastewater systems, sanitary drainage systems, sewer line installation, stormwater systems, and water supply systems.
- Ability to read blueprints accurately and interpret technical drawings related to utility trenching and pipe installation projects.
- Familiarity with construction safety regulations including federal standards for construction safety practices.
- Experience with utility locating tools, pipe lasers, plumbing techniques, concrete forming and finishing is highly desirable.
- Strong understanding of underground utilities installation procedures including sanitary sewers and stormwater management systems.
- Capable of working in physically demanding environments while maintaining attention to detail and safety standards.
- Valid certifications in heavy equipment operation or relevant safety training are preferred but not mandatory; willingness to obtain necessary certifications is expected.

Pay: $24.73 - $29.78 per hour
