Duties
- Assist with the installation and repair of different roofing systems, including metal roofing, single-ply membrane roofing, and tile laying.
- Use hand tools, power tools, and fabrication equipment safely and effectively to cut, shape, and install roofing materials.
- Set up ladders and safety harnesses correctly to ensure safe access to roofs at various heights.
- Interpret technical drawings, schematics, and blueprints to support accurate installation following construction plans.
- Perform heavy lifting of materials such as shingles, metal panels, or concrete forms while adhering to safety protocols.
- Support siding installation, stucco application, drywall work, caulking, trim carpentry, masonry, plumbing, welding, and other related tasks as needed for roofing projects or restoration efforts.
- Follow all construction workplace safety regulations diligently to maintain a safe environment for yourself and your teammates.
Experience
- Prior construction experience or hands-on work in roofing or related trades such as siding installation or drywall is highly preferred.
- Familiarity with construction estimating and reading blueprints or schematics enhances your ability to contribute effectively.
- Experience working outdoors in various weather conditions demonstrates your resilience and adaptability.
- Knowledge of construction safety harnesses, ladder use, heavy lifting techniques, and OSHA (Occupational Safety and Health Administration) safety regulations is essential.
- Skills in interpreting technical drawings and schematics support precise execution of project plans.
- Additional handyman skills such as framing carpentry, tile laying, restoration work, or fabricating metal components are a plus.
