B&A Precision supplies complex components to the Aerospace, Defense, and Medical sectors. We’re expanding and seeking a Precision Machining NPI & CAM Engineer who will report to the Shop President and design the process pathways that ensure parts meet specification and ship on time.
Role focus- Transform customer drawings into robust manufacturing plans for both new and repeat orders.
- Document quality checkpoints by creating/editing inspection sheets for the shop floor.
- Program CNC equipment to deliver first-time-right parts:
- Lathes: 2- and 3-axis, including bar-feeder setups
- Mills: 3-, 4-, and 5-axis
- Select and procure cutting tools and holders aligned to part geometry and materials.
- Specify and order workholding, including lathe jaws and milling fixtures.
- Lead New Product Introduction first-article lots through release.
- Support shop scheduling to balance throughput and due dates.
- Troubleshoot on-the-floor process issues to remove bottlenecks.
- Utilize CAD/CAM and DNC systems for programming and data transfer.
- Contribute to quotes and estimates for prospective work.
- Apply basic Lean Manufacturing concepts to improve flow and reduce waste.
- Materials: stainless steel and aluminum machining expertise.
- Special processes: working knowledge of NDT, heat treatment, and coatings, specifically for aerospace, defense, and medical components.
- Blueprint literacy, strong machining fundamentals, and proven CNC programming skills.
- Experience with CAD/CAM software and DNC connectivity.
- Associate or bachelor’s degree preferred; equivalent experience welcomed.
