Mechanical Dimensional Inspection Specialist (QA)

Our mission is simple: deliver precision parts that meet stringent aerospace criteria—every time. As a key member of Quality Assurance reporting to the QA Manager, you will lead dimensional and visual verification at receiving, throughout manufacturing, and at final release.

The challenge you’ll own

Imagine a critical component with a tight positional tolerance. You interpret the drawing, apply GD&T principles, set up on the surface plate, verify with height gages and indicators, and confirm geometry on the CMM. A subtle deviation appears—you document it clearly, log it to the QMS, and collaborate with Project Engineers to disposition the discrepant material. That vigilance protects our customers and our reputation.

Key responsibilities

• Perform mechanical and visual inspections at receiving, in-process, and final stages
• Execute First Article Inspections (FAIs) per QMS and customer requirements
• Utilize micrometers, calipers, height gages, surface plates, optical comparators, air gaging, thread gages, plug gages, and CMMs
• Create and maintain comprehensive inspection records and documentation (computer and manual)
• Enter and manage data to satisfy QMS data-gathering requirements
• Support calibration and maintenance of measuring devices per QP 7.6 and ISO 10012
• Assist with internal, customer, and third-party audits
• Perform daily backups of quality data
• Uphold and promote company Quality Policies and Objectives

What you bring

• 3–5 years of quality inspection experience in aerospace or a similarly regulated precision-manufacturing environment
• Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings, specifications, tolerances, and manufacturing travelers
• Proficiency with analog and digital inspection tools (micrometers, calipers, height gauges, indicators, bore gauges)
• Basic working knowledge of GD&T
• Meticulous documentation skills and commitment to traceable quality records
• Basic computer skills and unwavering attention to detail
