Job Summary
We are seeking a motivated and skilled Low Voltage Technician with expertise in fiber splicing and telecommunication infrastructure to join our dynamic team. In this role, you will be responsible for installing, maintaining, and troubleshooting low voltage systems, including fiber optic cabling and network infrastructure. Your technical proficiency and hands-on experience will ensure the seamless operation of communication systems across various construction and service sites. Duties
- Install, splice, and troubleshoot fiber optic cables ensuring optimal signal integrity and performance
- Operate heavy equipment such as bucket trucks, cranes, and power tools safely to access elevated or hard-to-reach areas
- Conduct cabling installations for telecommunication systems, including LAN (Local Area Network), Ethernet, WAN (Wide Area Network), and telephony infrastructure
- Read and interpret schematics, technical drawings, and wiring diagrams to accurately execute installation plans
- Climb structures such as utility poles or towers using climbing gear while adhering to safety protocols
- Perform routine maintenance on network infrastructure components and electrical systems
- Use hand tools and power tools efficiently for cable routing, termination, and system upgrades
- Collaborate with team members on construction projects involving electrical experience and IT infrastructure deployment
Requirements
- Proven experience in field service roles involving fiber splicing, telecommunication cabling, or low voltage systems
- Ability to operate heavy equipment including bucket trucks safely and effectively
- Strong knowledge of fiber optic splicing techniques and telecommunication standards
- Familiarity with computer networking concepts such as LAN, Ethernet, WAN, switches, routers, and schematics interpretation
- Experience working with hand tools, power tools, and construction safety practices
- Ability to climb structures or ladders comfortably while maintaining safety standards
- Electrical experience or background in electrical systems is highly desirable
- Excellent problem-solving skills with a proactive approach to troubleshooting network issues
- Valid driver’s license with clean driving record preferred for equipment operation
