Patient Access Specialist

Key Duties Include

• Greet patients and manage patient registration and pre-registration
• Verify insurance coverage and benefits
• Obtain required prior authorizations
• Collect point-of-service payments
• Use EHR and registration systems to ensure complete, accurate information for clean claims
• Support reduced claim denials through proper documentation
• Educate patients on financial responsibilities with clear, empathetic communication
• Collaborate with clinical and revenue cycle teams to improve the patient financial experience and revenue performance
  
  

Qualifications / Skills: strong patient service mindset, attention to detail, familiarity with insurance verification and authorization processes, comfort working with EHR/registration systems, and effective communication skills for explaining financial responsibilities.
