Laboratory Scientist

Role Overview: This position involves performing and reporting various laboratory analyses, managing specimens, and ensuring accurate results through established procedures. The role requires proficiency in instrument maintenance, troubleshooting, quality control, and proper specimen handling. The individual will also assist in training new staff and participate in ongoing education to maintain current knowledge.

Responsibilities Include

• Obtaining accurate laboratory results and managing multiple work processes efficiently.
• Confirming specimen identification and suitability, using proper accessioning procedures, and recognizing discrepancies.
• Following reporting protocols via computerized, verbal, and manual methods.
• Maintaining laboratory equipment and replenishing supplies per protocols.
• Documenting and resolving issues, troubleshooting instruments, and performing quality control.
• Navigating multiple computer applications and supporting team training and education.
  
  

Qualifications & Skills: An Associate's Degree in Medical Laboratory Technology or related field is required. Certification or experience in clinical laboratory science is preferred. The role demands attention to detail, proficiency with laboratory instruments, and the ability to work in a team environment.
