Key duties include coordinating patient admissions, transfers, and discharges, conducting patient rounds, managing staffing and assignments based on acuity, and participating in quality improvement initiatives. The role involves delegating tasks, mentoring staff, participating in emergency responses, and ensuring seamless communication across departments. The coordinator also plays a vital role in staff orientation, performance evaluations, and process improvements.
Qualifications & Skills: Graduate of an approved nursing program, with a Bachelor of Nursing preferred; at least two years of staff nursing experience; clinical skills, effective communication, teaching, and motivational abilities; and current Illinois RN license. Specialty board certification within two years is desirable, along with CPR certification.
