Position Summary
Twin D is seeking a detail-oriented and reliable GIS Intern to join our municipal projects team in Layton Utah. Under the guidance of a GIS professional, the intern will assist with a variety of tasks related to GIS projects. This position offers a unique opportunity to gain hands on experience in applying GIS technology to real world projects.
Position Responsibilities & Accountabilities
- Updating GIS databases, preparing maps , and performing other GIS related tasks as assigned.
- Working both independently and under the direction of a GIS specialist to produce viable datasets.
- Use Microsoft office, acrobat, etc. to transition paper maps to GIS maps
- Create excel tables for the quality control review.
- Assist in designing and documenting projects.

Experience & Qualifications:
- Current student or recent graduate in GIS studies or a related field
- Basic knowledge of GIS software, such as ArcGIS online and Pro is preferred
- Basic knowledge of cartography principles, digitizing, and data manipulation processes.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Ability to work independently and as a team
- Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills
- Effective written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines

- Work Environment:
- Wage: $ hourly. This is a part-time position (20 hours/week) and therefore non-benefited.
