Job Overview:
The Maintenance Technician plays a key role in ensuring the property is well-maintained, safe, and fully operational. This position requires a hands-on approach to building repairs, preventive maintenance, and general upkeep of facilities, equipment, and common areas. The technician will respond to maintenance requests, perform routine inspections, and assist with vendor coordination as needed.
General Maintenance:
- Perform daily maintenance tasks including minor electrical, plumbing, HVAC, carpentry, and painting work.
- Respond promptly to resident and staff maintenance requests.
- Troubleshoot and repair building systems, fixtures, and equipment.
- Conduct routine inspections of mechanical rooms, equipment, and common areas.
- Support seasonal tasks such as pressure washing, filter replacements, and debris removal.
Preventive Maintenance:
- Follow a scheduled maintenance program for equipment and building systems.
- Document completed work and report potential issues to the supervisor or management.
Safety & Equipment Use:
- Use tools and equipment safely and properly.
- Follow all safety protocols and building procedures, including reporting hazards or unsafe conditions.
- Assist with maintaining fire/life safety equipment and logs under supervision.
Vendor & Team Support:
- Assist with coordinating access for outside contractors and monitoring vendor work as assigned.
- Support other staff with special projects, setups, and emergency response as needed.
Qualifications:
Education / Experience:
- High School diploma or equivalent required.
- Minimum of 2 years’ experience in building maintenance, facilities support, or a similar role.
Work Schedule:
- Full-time; however, flexible hours may be required, including weekends, holidays, and overtime.
