Job Summary
The Senior Staff Accountant is responsible for supporting the organization’s financial operations through general accounting functions, financial reporting, and analysis. This role ensures the accuracy and integrity of financial data, supports month-end and year-end close processes, and collaborates with the Finance team to deliver timely and accurate financial information.
Positions Specifications
- Maintain and reconcile general ledger accounts across multiple entities
- Prepare and analyze internal and external financial statements
- Perform month-end and year-end close processes, including journal entries, reconciliations, and variance analysis (AR, AP, prepaid expenses, fixed assets, cost centers, and departmental expenses)
- Conduct bank reconciliations and assist with weekly cash flow reporting
- Support accounts payable and receivable functions
- Assist in budgeting and forecasting processes
- Develop, improve, and implement accounting procedures and internal controls
- Analyze financial data and prepare reports using spreadsheets and financial systems
- Coordinate tax-related activities, including 1099 filings, property taxes, and other corporate filings
- Partner with external tax advisors to ensure timely tax payments and compliance
- Maintain and review insurance documentation to ensure proper coverage
- Assist with payroll-related accounting functions as needed
- Support process improvements, including automation of accounts payable and credit card transactions
- Respond to internal and external financial inquiries
- Perform additional duties and special projects as assigned
Qualifications:
Required Education and Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field (required)
- Minimum of 3 years of professional accounting experience (required)
- Examples include general ledger accounting, financial reporting, reconciliations, and month-end close processes
- Experience in a healthcare or multi-entity environment (preferred)
- Intermediate to advanced Microsoft Excel skills, including formulas, pivot tables, and data analysis tools (required)

Position Type and Expected Hours of Work
This is a full-time, exempt position. Standard workdays are Monday through Friday. The role requires availability during core business hours and flexibility to work extended hours, evenings, or weekends as needed.
