What are the responsibilities and job description for the Senior Fund Accountant position at Aztec Group?
Reports to the Financial Reporting Manager
This highly numerical position will be working with an established team in our US office, who service Private Equity, Real Estate, Infrastructure, and Private Credit products for both mid-market and institutional clients.

What you'll be doing
- Recording of all activity for a portfolio of Private Funds and SPVs, including responding to ad-hoc investor and client requests.
- Preparation of financial statements, investor capital statements, capital call and distribution notices in accordance with US GAAP (and at times IFRS and UK/Lux GAAP).
- Researching accounting guidance as necessary to ensure correct recording of complex transactions.
- Liaising with client auditors and tax preparers, responding to requests for information.
- Preparation of investor reporting including calculations of investor and fund performance.
- Participating in projects that focus on improving efficiencies or enhancing internal controls.
- Assisting with the training and mentoring of junior members of staff.
What we're looking for
- 3 years relevant experience in Fund Accounting or Audit, ideally in the alternative funds sector (either in-house with a fund manager or a fund administrator)
- Experience with capital calls, distributions, investor capital activity and financial statements preparation
- Private Equity specific experience is preferred
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Economics or equivalent relevant experience is essential
- CPA accreditation is advantageous
- Sound technical knowledge of US GAAP and reporting required for the alternative funds sectors
- Good interpersonal skills are required to develop close working relationships with colleagues, clients and business contacts
- Ability to work in a fast-paced entrepreneurial environment with a curious attitude and desire to learn
- Excellent collaboration skills and passionate team player
