Core Job Responsibilities:

  • Deliver completed manufacturing processes to work cells on schedule to meet customer requirements
  • Ensure accuracy and completeness of process documentation, including - raw material verification and routing confirmation; selection and procurement of cutting tools, holders, collets, fixtures and hardware; design and documentation of custom work holding in SolidWorks; CNC programming for work holding and machining operations; creation of machine setup sheets according to departmental standards; print verification and annotation of required dimensions
  • Support initial setup and prove-out of new CNC programs
  • Troubleshoot CNC programs, CAM files, setup sheets and revision histories
  • Continuously seek and implement improvements to reduce cycle times, setup times, and increase efficiency
  • Participate in meetings and lean manufacturing initiatives
  • Develop and demonstrate proficiency in processes for multiple work cells, including - Twin Spindle Lathes; Horizontal/Vertical Machining Centers; Swiss Machining; Manual Machining; Assembly and other operations
  • Contribute to company goals and continuous improvement efforts
  • Comply with established ISO standards and Aztalan's core values – Excellence, Support, Ownership and Progress
  • Maintain a positive and professional work environment
  • Adhere to regular and reliable attendance
  • Other duties as assigned

Qualifications:

  • High School Diploma or equivalent, required
  • Valid Driver's License, required
  • Strong background in CNC programming and machining processes
  • In-depth knowledge of cutting tools, holders, fixtures, and work holding solutions
  • Must have the ability to operate, set up and prove out CNC machines and use inspection tools
  • Must have a strong understanding of blueprint reading and GD&T
  • Must have sufficient computer, math, and technical knowledge
  • Must have a solid understanding of cutting tool applications, grades, and designations
  • Must have a strong attention to detail with a focus on quality and precision
  • Must have effective problem-solving, time-management and communication skills
  • Must have the ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment
