The Arizona Humane Society is hiring a full-time Urgent Care Receptionist to join our brand new Urgent Care Clinic at our Papago Park Campus! This position works Wednesday–Sunday, 5:30 PM–2:30 AM. A Day in the Life:
Our clinic receptionists are at the forefront of this mission as they help ensure that pet owners receive information and resources for their pets while having an excellent experience every time. Our energetic, friendly, and self-motivated receptionists are responsible for greeting all customers with a friendly smile, maintaining first and last impressions in the lobby, and managing high-volume calls and scheduling. Strong communication abilities, phone etiquette, and excellent customer service skills are a must. A passion for helping people and pets in need is a plus!
Job Requirements:
- High schooldiploma/GED
- A minimum of one year of experience in high volume customer service or receptionist position required.
- A minimum of one year of experience in the veterinary field required.
- Excellent customer service and communication skills required.
- Ability to speak fluently and write in English and Spanish preferred.
- Serve as the primary point of contact for clients, ensuring a welcoming and professional experience.
- Address client inquiries, concerns, and complaints in a timely and compassionate manner.
- Educate pet owners on clinic policies, procedures, and services.
- Process check-ins, check-outs, and payments efficiently.
- Coordinate prescription refills and communicate with veterinary staff regarding client requests.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date client and patient records.
- Handle financial transactions, including invoicing, payment processing, and account reconciliation.
- Act as a liaison between clients and veterinary staff, ensuring clear and timely communication.
- Relay important medical or procedural information from veterinarians to pet owners.
Physical Demands/Work Environment:
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to stand, walk, sit, use hands to finger, handle, or feel objects, tools or controls, reach with hands and arms, climb stairs, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. Must be able to hear above the sound of the animals.
There will be exposure to dust, heat, cold and temperature changes; occasional wet floors, and animal noises, odors and dander. Most time will be spent in a typical air conditioned and heated office environment.
