Blend Facility Operator

Monday-Friday 2:00pm to 10:00pm

QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS:

• Mathematical Skills: Ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide in all units of measure using whole numbers, common fractions and decimals. 
• Communication Skills: Ability to successfully communicate by written or verbal communication.  Writing must be legible and neat.
• Reasoning Ability: Ability to apply commonsense understanding to carry out detailed written, oral or diagram instructions.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS/WORK ENVIRONMENT:

• The employee is regularly required to perform long periods of standing and walking on cement foundation, climbing stairs and straight ladders, and must regularly lift and/or move up to 25 pounds, and frequently lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.
• May be required to be medically certified for respirator use and medically fit for duty. Use of other personal protective equipment is required for certain jobs and in specified areas of the plant.
• Willing and able to work flexible shifts if required to meet production needs

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Regular and punctual attendance.
• Notify management of any problems, as they arise.
• Operates a process computer for process control.
• Ability to read and interpret safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
• Ability to perform basic math.
• Ability to write routine reports and correspondence.
• Inspects each assigned process area for abnormal situations, takes corrective action, and reports incidents to management.
• Will cooperate with the maintenance department.
• Assist in control room operations, pay attention to alarms, check for proper recipes and ingredients, tolerances, and settings.
• Monitor the control activities at all times.
• Monitor production rates.
• Maintains an adequate supply of materials.
• Perform “5S” program daily/monthly.
• Able to do a rail switch and paperwork involved
• Able to handle all incoming and outgoing material trucks and paperwork involved

QUALITY RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Reports quality incidents and takes appropriate corrective action.
• Controls process to prevent nonconforming product.

COST CONTROL RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Operates efficiently avoiding wasted time, materials, and product.
• Makes cost saving suggestions.

RELATIONSHIP:

• The Blend Facility B Operator reports to the Product/Process Engineer
