We are seeking a dedicated Sterile Processing Technician to join our healthcare team. Duties
- Responsible for the cleaning, sterilisation, and packaging of surgical instruments and medical devices in accordance with hospital protocols.
- Inspect instruments for damage or contamination, ensuring quality standards are met before storage or distribution.
- Maintain accurate records of sterilisation cycles and equipment maintenance.
- Operate sterilisation equipment such as autoclaves and washer-disinfectors following safety procedures.
- Organise sterilised items systematically for easy retrieval by clinical staff.
- Adhere to infection control policies and ensure compliance with health and safety regulations at all times.
- Assist with inventory management, including stock replenishment and ordering supplies as needed.
- Communicate effectively with clinical teams regarding instrument availability and special requirements.
Qualifications
- Previous laboratory or sterile processing experience is highly desirable.
- Proficiency in English, with strong communication skills to liaise effectively within multidisciplinary teams.
- Basic IT skills for record keeping and utilisation of sterilisation management systems.
- Knowledge of biochemistry related to sterilisation processes is advantageous.
- Valid driving licence is preferred for transportation or supply delivery purposes.
- Excellent organisational skills with meticulous attention to detail.
- Ability to work independently as well as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
