Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and highly skilled Registered Nurse specialising in the Operating Room to join our healthcare team. Responsibilities
- Prepare operating rooms by ensuring all necessary equipment and supplies are sterile and ready for procedures
- Assist surgeons and anaesthetists during surgeries, providing support as needed
- Monitor patients’ vital signs continuously throughout surgical procedures
- Administer medications and fluids as prescribed, adhering strictly to hospital protocols
- Maintain accurate documentation of patient care, surgical procedures, and post-operative instructions
- Provide preoperative education and reassurance to patients and their families
- Ensure strict adherence to infection control standards and safety regulations
- Respond promptly to any intraoperative emergencies or complications, supporting team efforts for swift resolution
- Support post-operative recovery by monitoring patients’ condition and providing appropriate care instructions
Experience
- Proven experience working as a Registered Nurse within an operating theatre or surgical environment is essential
- Demonstrable knowledge of human anatomy relevant to surgical procedures is required
- Prior experience with patient care in high-pressure situations is highly desirable
- Certification in perioperative nursing or equivalent qualifications are preferred but not mandatory for suitably experienced candidates
- Excellent communication skills, organisational ability, and attention to detail are crucial for success in this role
