What are the responsibilities and job description for the Medical Assistant position at Az Lung Sleep and Valley Fever?
Az Lung Sleep and Valley Fever is a pulmonary and sleep office. All Medical Assistants can gain experience from 3 different Doctors and 3 Physician assistance ranging from hospital care, pulmonary, and sleep. All MA's will have the opportunity of working with all providers as well as all positions in the office.
Hours Various: Monday- Friday, 8:00am-4:30pm/7:30-4:00
Locations: We have 2 different locations. All staff after training will rotate between our Goodyear and Surprise office.
This position is responsible for assisting clinicians in providing medical care, as well as, implementing and assisting with direct patient care. This position utilizes specialized knowledge, judgment and skills to provide an excellent patient experience. Responsible for prioritization of patient flow through clinical process. Coordinates and manages patient care including pre-certifications, referrals, authorizations, disability paperwork, billing, faxes, and scheduling of patients for clinic. Responsible for communicating appropriate test results to patient. Acts as a resource to clinician in order to provide optimal patient care. Provides clerical support with patient/client notifications and documentation to include but not limited to complete medical records including labs, authorizations, X-Rays, hospital records and any previous care pertaining to each patient visit. Provides complete and accurate information necessary for billing related to the patient encounter in a timely fashion. Maintains a clean, functional environment including cleaning and disinfection of equipment, exam rooms and storage areas. Monitors inventory including medication/injectables and immunizations (e.g. expired medications/equipment and recalls). Obtains all necessary patient records as required by physician and verifies presence of consent prior to treatment or procedures. Prepares and stocks exam/treatment rooms and orders supplies as needed.
Requirements:
High school diploma or equivalent
Completion of an approved medical assistant training program
PREFERRED:
Bilingual
1 year medical experience
