Job Summary
The Loan Compliance and Collections Specialist is responsible for servicing title loan accounts while ensuring all collection and servicing activities comply with applicable federal, state, and local regulations. This role manages delinquent accounts, supports loan recovery efforts, and ensures fair, ethical, and compliant treatment of borrowers throughout the loan lifecycle.
- Sales, Marketing and Collections experience is required.
- Good attendance and punctuality are a must.
- Must be able to work Saturdays 8:45-3:15.
- Days off will be Sunday and Wednesday.
Responsibilities:
Compliance & Regulatory Oversight
- Ensure all loan servicing and collection activities comply with title loan regulations, FDCPA, FCRA, CFPB guidelines, and state-specific lending laws
- Review loan files, account activity, and borrower communications for compliance accuracy
- Maintain required disclosures, notices, and documentation in accordance with regulatory standards
- Support internal audits, regulatory examinations, and compliance reporting
- Stay current on changes in title lending laws and company compliance policies
Collections & Account Management
- Monitor delinquent title loan accounts and initiate compliant collection efforts
- Communicate with borrowers regarding past-due payments in a professional and respectful manner
- Negotiate payment arrangements, extensions, renewals, or resolutions when permitted by law and company policy
- Coordinate repossession activities in accordance with legal requirements and timelines
- Prepare accounts for charge-off, legal referral, or recovery as necessary
Loan Servicing
- Process payments, payoffs, renewals, extensions, and account adjustments
- Verify vehicle title documentation, lien placement, and release accuracy
- Respond to borrower inquiries, disputes, and account requests promptly
- Maintain accurate loan records within loan management systems
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent required; college coursework preferred
- 3 years of experience in title loans, consumer lending, collections, or financial services
- Working knowledge of title loan compliance and collections regulations
- Familiarity with FDCPA, FCRA, and state lending laws
- Strong communication, negotiation, and documentation skills
- High attention to detail and ability to manage multiple accounts
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with repossessions and title lien processes
- Prior compliance, audit, or risk management experience
- Knowledge of multi-state title loan operations
