Position Summary
We are seeking a detail-oriented and dependable MOHS Histotechnologist to join our growing Dermatology practice with multiple locations throughout the valley. The Histotechnologist is responsible for preparing high-quality tissue specimens for microscopic examination while ensuring accuracy, efficiency, and compliance with all laboratory regulations. This position plays a vital role in supporting providers with timely and accurate diagnoses.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Receive, accession, and verify tissue specimens.
- Perform tissue processing according to established laboratory protocols.
- Cut high-quality tissue sections using a microtome.
- Prepare slides for Hematoxylin and Eosin (H&E) staining.
- Maintain accurate specimen identification throughout all stages of processing.
- Perform quality control procedures to ensure optimal specimen preparation.
- Operate, maintain, and troubleshoot laboratory equipment.
- Document laboratory procedures and maintain accurate records.
- Maintain laboratory cleanliness and organization.
- Monitor inventory and notify management when supplies need replenishing.
- Follow OSHA, CLIA, HIPAA, and all applicable laboratory safety regulations.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
Required
- Previous experience in Mohs Histotech setting.
- Knowledge of histology laboratory procedures and equipment.
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
- Experience with Cryostat machines (preferably Leica brands), and automated and manual staining equipment.
Pay: $25.00 - $30.00 per hour
