On any given day, you’ll:
- Lead and collaborate on the design and delivery of major bridges, retaining walls, and other transportation structures.
- Perform structural analysis and design of steel, concrete, and timber elements using industry-standard software.
- Manage projects and oversee the production of plans, specifications, and regulatory submittals—ensuring quality, profitability, and schedule adherence.
- Review structural designs and reports prepared by other team members.
- Build strong relationships with clients, internal teams, and agency partners.
- Support business development efforts and represent Ayres in the Tampa Bay region.
Required Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in civil engineering with a structural emphasis.
- Florida Professional Engineer (PE) license.
- Minimum of 10 years of experience in structural design of bridges and transportation structures.
- Proven ability to manage complex projects and meet deadlines and budget expectations.
- Strong technical writing and verbal communication skills.
- Valid driver’s license and a good driving record.
Desired Skills and Experience:
- Master’s degree in structural engineering (preferred).
- Experience with FDOT bridge design standards and permitting processes.
- Familiarity with major bridge projects in Florida.
- Experience designing major concrete bridges
