On Any Given Day, You’ll
- Perform construction observation of transportation/WisDOT infrastructure projects.
- Perform quantity measurements and computations, record keeping, contractor pay estimate preparation and review of contractor progress; materials testing; field staking and general inspection for transportation road and utility projects.
- Interpret construction drawings and specifications and take appropriate action to ensure the project is constructed in conformance with the requirements of the project construction contract.
- Maintain client relations while in the field.
- Prepare reports, review design standards and code requirements, and conduct field investigation of design problems.
- Previous infrastructure construction observation experience, including storm sewer, structures, and roadways.
- Valid driver’s license and good driving record.
- Ability to walk over uneven terrain and lift up to 50 lbs.
- Previous WisDOT transportation construction observation experience.
- Associate degree in Civil Engineering Technology or equivalent.
- Experience in excel and word.
- Staking/survey experience.
- Strong written/verbal communications skills and the ability to operate independently.
