Job Overview:

A Residential Real Estate Paralegal plays a crucial role in supporting real estate attorneys and facilitating the smooth execution of residential real estate transactions. This position involves a combination of administrative tasks, document management, some legal research, and ensuring that all legal requirements and client needs are met during the buying and selling of residential properties.


Key Responsibilities:

1. Client Communication: Maintain regular communication with clients, real estate agents, and other parties involved in the transaction to provide updates, answer questions, and facilitate a smooth process.

2. Closing Coordination: Coordinate and schedule closings, ensuring all parties are informed of the date, time, and location, and assist in the preparation of closing documents.

3. Administrative Support: Provide administrative support to attorneys, including managing calendars, scheduling appointments, and drafting correspondence.

4. Due Diligence: Assist in gathering information about the property, such as property tax records, surveys, zoning, and land use data, to ensure the accuracy and completeness of information.

5. Document Preparation: Assist in the preparation and review of legal documents, including settlement statements, closing packages, purchase agreements, deeds, mortgages, and other relevant contracts necessary for residential real estate transactions.

6. File Management: Maintain organized and detailed files for each transaction, tracking all documentation and correspondence to ensure accurate record-keeping.


Qualifications:

1. Education: A Bachelor's degree or Associate's degree is preferred.

2. Paralegal Certification: A certification as a paralegal is a plus, but not required.

3. Experience: Previous experience as a real estate paralegal or in a similar legal support role is highly desirable, but not required, we are willing to train you.

4. Communication Skills: Excellent written and verbal communication skills to interact with clients and all involved parties effectively.

5. Attention to Detail: Keen attention to detail when reviewing legal documents and conducting research.

6. Organizational Skills: Strong organizational skills to manage multiple transactions and documents simultaneously.

7. Computer Skills: Proficiency in legal software, document management systems, and Microsoft Office applications.

8. Ethical Standards: Adherence to the highest ethical and confidentiality standards.


Pay/Working Conditions:

In office preferred; remote capabilities available

Pay based on experience, willing to be competitive with the market (willing to train and raises are earned)

Family type atmosphere

Full Benefits (Health, dental, 401k, vacation)

M-F; Main hours 9:00 am – 5:00 pm
