Job Summary

Ayar Labs is seeking an Intern Optical Engineer to join our Packaging Team and help drive the characterization and validation of advanced optical packaging solutions and optical components used in our silicon photonics platforms. This role focuses on fiber optics and optical connectors. You will analyze connector interfaces, and micro-optics, ensuring high optical performance in the system.

Essential Functions

• Assist with characterization and validation of advanced optical packaging solutions and optical components used in our silicon photonics platforms
• Analyze connector interfaces, and micro-optics, ensuring high optical performance in the system.
  
  

Basic Qualifications

• BS, MS, or PhD in Optics, Photonics, Physics, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field.
• Hands-on experience with optical characterization and validation tools (e.g., optical digital communications analyzer, IL/RL measurement, mode-field analysis, beam profiling, connector inspection).
• Working knowledge of silicon photonics, fiber-optic communication principles, and semiconductor laser technologies.
• Familiarity with wavelength grid standards and optical modulation formats.
  
  

Pay Range: $44.00 to $55.00 / Hour
