Aya Healthcare is seeking an Experienced Release of Information (ROI) Specialist in Pasadena for a 13 week contract role!!

Job Title: ROI Specialist
Schedule: Monday through Friday from 8am-5pm
Hourly Pay: $26-$29
Contract Length: 13 weeks with possible extension
Onboarding Time: 2-3 weeks
Job Summary:
The ROI Specialist will manage Release of Information (ROI) processes within the Epic EMR system. Must have least 3–5 years of hands-on experience handling medical records and a solid understanding of HIPAA regulations. The ROI Specialist is responsible for processing medical records requests from a variety of sources—including patients, healthcare providers, and legal entities—while ensuring compliance with state and federal privacy laws. The ROI Specialist plays a key role in prioritizing and fulfilling release of information requests, responding to customer inquiries, and educating requesters on confidentiality standards. Familiarity with Epic's ROI module, PDF applications (e.g., Kofax), and a customer-service-oriented approach are essential for success in this position.
Required Skills & Experience:
- At least 2 years of using Release of information (ROI) module in Epic EMR system
- Minimum of 3-5 years of experience managing medical records in Epic
- Processing medical records requests for patients, doctors’ offices, law offices, attorneys, etc.
- Knowledge of HIPAA
- Kofax, use of PDF application
- Preferred RHIT/RHIA but no licensure required
Responsibilities:
-Receives and prioritizes customer requests from multiple sources and works them through the appropriate systems to completion within required -response timeframes and in accordance with State and Federal requirements and HIPAA regulations.
-Address customer inquiries for patient information, assists callers with making record requests and general customer service.
-Educate customers on information confidentiality and privacy regulations.

-Identifies and responds appropriately to both internal and external customer needs utilizing available resources
