Requirements

• Required Certifications: FHM, ACLS, BLS, NRP
• Required Skills: Community Level experience, Antepartum, Facility births/month 100-200, Labor and Delivery, Level I Nursery, Teaching Hospital, Assist with amniocentesis, Assist with sterile speculum exam (effacement, dilation, station, presentation), NST (Non Stress Tests), Reflex checks / edema assessment / clonus, Sterile vaginal exam, Triage of obstetrical patients, Use of EFM (External Fetal Heart Monitoring), Asthma, Cardiac disease, COVID, Diabetes mellitus, HELLP Syndrome, HIV, Infectious disease, Malpresentations (breech / face / brow), Multiple Gestation, Placenta Previa/Abruptio, Pre-eclampsia / eclampsia, Premature Rupture of Membranes, Preterm labor, RH incompatibilities, Substance Abuse, Uterine rupture, VBAC management / trial of labor, Infant / neonatal arrest, Use of Rapid Response/Code teams, Use of External Fetal Monitoring, Use of Internal Fetal Monitoring, Use of IUPC (Intrauterine pressure catheter) placement and calibration, Recognition and Treatment of abnormal fetal heart rate patterns, Administration of blood & blood products, Drawing Venous Blood, Starting and maintaining IVs, Use of infusion pumps / drips / IV monitoring, Antiseizure, Antihypertensives, Insulin drips, Magnesium Sulfate therapy, Pitocin (oxytocin), Prostaglandins, Terbutaline, Amnioinfusion, Assist with high risk delivery, Assist with vaginal delivery, Circulate for C-section, Forceps/vacuum extraction, Hemorrhage/shock, Recover C-Section, Scrub for C-Section, Sterile vaginal exam, APGAR scores, Baby Nurse (“Baby Catcher”), Collect cord samples, ID/Security Banding, Neonatal Resuscitation, Radiant Warmers/Thermoregulation, Cord Care, Discharge teaching to parents, Infant Identification, Neonatal Abstinence Syndrome, Newborn Assessment, Newborn hypoglycemia, Thermoregulation, Epidural Anesthesia, General Anesthesia, Nitrous Oxide, Opioids, Pain assessment & management, Use of PCA (IV), Breastfeeding Support/lactation support, Episiotomy/Incisional Care, Foley catheter insertion/management, Fundus / lochia / perineum care, Use of Electric/Manual breast pump, Wound Assessment and Care, Vaginal Delivery, Cesarean Section, Bladder Distension, Couplet Care, Multiple Births, Postpartum Hemorrhage, Pregnancy induced hypertension, Isolation Precautions/PPE, Vaccine Administration, Cervical Cerclage, D & C, Tubal Ligation
