What are the responsibilities and job description for the Optometric Assistant position at Axis Vision Care?
Essential Functions:
Axis Vision Care is seeking a detail-oriented, people-focused Optometric Assistant to join our Tiffin team — with a focus in Optical.
This is not a behind-the-counter retail job. This role is about helping patients feel confident, educated, and cared for while selecting eyewear that improves both their vision and their life.
Knowledge & Skill Requirements:
- Know, understand, and demonstrate Axis Vision Care’s vision, mission, and values Team oriented
- Communication – ability to communicate with patients and co-workers
- Computer skills – ability to work on Microsoft office and our software system
- Service orientation – ability and desire to want to help others
- Problem Solving – Identifying complex problems and reviewing related information to develop and evaluate options and implement solutions
- Critical thinking – Using logic and reasoning to identify the strengths and weaknesses of alternative solutions, conclusions or approaches to problems.
- Interpersonal – ability to interact and work with others appropriately
Required Experience/Training & Qualifications:
- High school diploma or GED
- Commitment to employee and patient satisfaction
- Strong desire to grow and develop yourself and co-workers
- CPO certified, or willing to get certified

Schedule:
- M, Tu, W, F 8am-5pm, Th 12pm-7pm
- Beginning in July, all clinics will operate on an 8am-5pm schedule.
