Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner - Regional Crisis Center - Durango, CO
Position Summary: The role of the Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner Provide psychiatric evaluations, medication management, and MAT as needed for patients via the Walk In Clinic (WIC). Provide consultation to care teams as needed, work with assigned nurse to monitor and ensure patients are responding to treatment. This may include ordering appropriate lab work, starting MAT protocols, referring patients to a higher level of care, and other activities related to patient care as indicated.
Qualifications: Our ideal candidate for our Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner position will have formal training in area of specialization, experience in area of practice is also desirable or required dependent on individual and sponsoring physician. Required Experience: 3 years of experience working as a Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner. Required Education: Master's Degree - PMHNP, Required licensures: RN, APRN, and RXN licenses – currently active in the state of Colorado. Required Certification: PMHNP – Board Certified through ANCC or AANP, BLS
Salary: $131,040.00 - $138,902.40 annualized and considers preferred experience.

Physical demands: Employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds. Employee is frequently required to walk, sit, stand or kneel and occasionally required to climb or balance and stoop. Must have ability to sit for longer periods at a computer. Employee must be able to travel between Axis Health System locations. Possible potential exposure to communicable disease. Required Skills:
- Competent in psychopharmacology
- Knowledgeable in evaluation and treatment of patients with psychiatric symptoms
- Experienced with providing Medication Assisted Treatment (MAT)
- Comfortable working in an urgent care environment and completing multiple psych evals daily
- Excellent de-escalation skills, and ability to work well in a team-oriented environment
- Interpersonal and communication skills to develop and maintain effective working relationships with all internal and external customers.
- Ability to demonstrate proficiency with EMR and related systems that are central to modern patient health records.
- Ability to organize and prioritize workload in a sometimes-hectic environment with frequent interruptions.
- Must have current driver’s license and ability to be commercially insured and maintain a driving record that allows insurability with Axis Health System commercial insurance agency.
- Must demonstrate the ability to follow the organization’s confidentiality and security rules.
