The Shop Technician plays a vital role in our facility's warehouse and shop activities, reporting directly to management. Key responsibilities include preparing and testing blowout preventers, performing maintenance on machines, tools, and equipment, and maintaining a clean and organized workspace.
Essential Duties:
1. Preparing and servicing blowout preventers (BOPs)
2. Conducting pressure tests for BOPs and other components after service
3. Managing inventory of expendable materials and parts
4. Maintaining the facility, including the testing station and storeroom
5. Assisting with loading and unloading supplies and equipment
6. Cleaning the shop area, painting, and retrieving parts and tools
7. Performing general repair and maintenance work as needed
8. Delivering and picking up parts, including pulling a trailer
9. Operating a forklift and other material-handling equipment
Requirements:
High School Diploma or equivalent education is required. A valid Class C driver license is essential; a CDL is an asset. One year of experience in a warehouse environment, including material-handling with heavy equipment, is necessary. Proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly Outlook, Word, and Excel, is also required. Basic writing, math, problem-solving, and organizational skills are expected. The ability to lift up to 75 lbs, interact with others in a team environment, and work in a fast-paced setting with multiple tasks is crucial. Reliable communication and transportation are also necessary.
