The Field Supervisor manages and supervises a workover rig crew, coordinates customer-approved subcontractor personnel on location, and serves as the day-to-day customer contact for assigned field work. This role implements company policies and standard operating procedures while supporting safe, efficient execution of customer requirements.

 

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

Key responsibilities include the following:

  • Receive and implement job orders from the customer representative.
  • Assist the customer, when requested, with planning and scheduling other services by using the customer’s approved vendor list.
  • Communicate job schedule, status, and customer requirements clearly to the customer, Rig Operator, and appropriate operations or sales leaders.
  • Ensure the company fulfills its responsibilities in meeting or exceeding customer expectations and requirements.
  • Monitor and evaluate assigned Rig Operator performance and support company quality and performance programs.
  • Aid in the recruitment of crew hands and support effective crew readiness for assigned field work.
  • Report unplanned events, communicate HSE concerns, and assist HSE personnel with related investigations and documentation.
  • Ensure strict adherence to company safety and operating policies by company personnel and, when applicable, customer-approved subcontractor personnel.
  • Manage assigned equipment maintenance communications and verify required pre-use inspections, equipment checks, and corrective actions are completed or escalated after work begins.
  • Assist in resolving disputes or operational issues between customers and the company.
  • Identify potential business and market opportunities and communicate relevant leads or observations to the appropriate operations or sales leaders.

 

Minimum Qualifications (Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities)

  • High School Diploma, GED, or equivalent education.
  • Minimum two (2) years of Tool Pusher/Field Supervisor workover rig experience.
  • Minimum five (5) years proven experience as a Rig Operator.
  • Must have valid, active state-issued Class C driver’s license; CDL Class A or B is a plus; acceptable MVR required.
  • Must be able to work a varied rotational schedule and travel as job requires.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (especially Word and Excel).
  • Ability to communicate effectively in English with customers, visitors, vendors, and employees, both verbally and in writing.
  • Basic math, problem-solving, and organizational skills.
  • Ability to work effectively with others in a team environment.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and handle multiple tasks at once.
  • Reliable cell phone communication and dependable transportation are required.
  • Clearance of pre-employment drug/alcohol and job-relevant screens. 
  • Salary Range - $95k-$105k annually

 

Physical Demands and Work Environment

The physical demands below are representative of the requirements needed to perform the essential functions of this position. Reasonable accommodations may be made when appropriate.

  • Ability to stand up to 6 hours, sit up to 4 hours, and walk up to 5 hours during a typical 12-hour shift.
  • Frequent bending and occasional kneeling, reaching, pushing/pulling, and fine motor tasks associated with supervision, equipment checks, documentation, and job coordination.
  • Frequent climbing, including ladders or access points up to approximately 30 feet, and ability to enter confined spaces when required.
  • Grip strength of approximately 60-80 lbs may be required for handling tools, climbing/access support, and field equipment inspection tasks.
  • Work is primarily performed outdoors at field rig sites with exposure to temperature extremes, high noise levels, uneven surfaces, and changing weather conditions.
  • Typical schedule may include 12-hour shifts, rotational work schedules such as 14/7, and travel up to approximately 60%, depending on business and customer needs.
  • Must wear required PPE and complete job-relevant pre-employment screens, including physical, musculoskeletal, pulmonary, audiogram, vision, and drug screens, as applicable.

 

Safety Training Requirements

  • Complete company-required, site-specific, customer, and role-specific safety training after supervising field work, including JSA, hazard recognition, stop-work authority, incident reporting, and emergency response procedures.
  • Maintain applicable well control, H2S, hazard communication/SDS, fall protection, confined space, lockout/tagout, heavy equipment, and PPE training requirements.
  • Lead or participate in safety meetings, toolbox talks, JSAs, and post-job reviews to confirm hazards, controls, assignments, stop-work authority, emergency response expectations, and corrective actions are understood.
  • Ensure crews and approved subcontractors follow company, customer, OSHA, DOT/FMCSA, and API RP 54 safety expectations; monitor crew readiness, fit-for-duty, fatigue, impairment, and heat-stress concerns.

Salary : $95,000 - $105,000
