The State Filings Analyst (ISO) is a senior professional responsible for leading the strategy, execution, and continuous improvement of ISO-based rate and form filings. This role plays a critical part in enabling the organization to bring products to market efficiently while helping to maintain filing compliance across jurisdictions.
As a key partner to underwriting, product development, actuarial, and legal teams, this role interprets complex filing requirements, shapes filing strategies, and resolves filing challenges. The individual serves as a trusted advisor and subject matter expert, helping balance business objectives, compliance obligations, and speed-to-market priorities.
Success in this role requires deep ISO filing expertise, strong judgment, and the ability to influence outcomes in a dynamic and often changing environment.

We are looking for a highly experienced professional who brings deep technical expertise, strong problem-solving capabilities, and the ability to operate independently while influencing across a broad stakeholder group.
What you need to have:
For this position, we currently expect to offer a base salary in the range of $100,000 - $145,000 (New York, New Jersey). Your salary offer will be based on an assessment of a variety of factors including your specific experience and work location.
In addition, you will be eligible for competitive incentive compensation, based on individual and company performance, as well as a comprehensive benefits package including medical coverage, retirement plans, paid time off, and additional wellness and development programs. Where this role is based in the United States of America, this role is Exempt for FLSA purposes.

What will you do in this role?
Filing Strategy & Execution
- Lead the end-to-end strategy and execution of ISO-based rate and form filings across commercial lines, including General Liability, Commercial Property, Commercial Auto, and Inland Marine
- Interpret ISO circulars, loss costs and requirements, and translate them into effective filing strategies aligned with business objectives
- Evaluate and recommend filing approaches (e.g., LCMs, deviations, exception pages) based on regulatory requirements, timing considerations, and competitive positioning
- Anticipate potential filing objections and proactively design solutions to mitigate approval risks
- Serve as a subject matter expert (SME) on ISO filings and requirements
- Provide consultative guidance to underwriting, actuarial, and product teams on ISO based product changes and new initiatives
- Offer expert recommendations on filing strategy, structure, timing, and execution
- Partner closely with cross-functional teams to align filing strategies with business goals and regulatory expectations
- Act as the primary point of contact for complex and high-impact filing initiatives
- Serve as a key liaison with state Departments of Insurance, including managing communications and resolving escalated issues
- Influence decision-making through strong filing insight and effective communication
- Identify and implement improvements to ISO filing processes to enhance efficiency, consistency, and speed-to-market
- Establish and promote best practices in filing strategy, documentation, and regulatory engagement
- Monitor and leverage systems such as SERFF and FilingRamp to ensure accurate tracking, compliance, and workflow management
- Contribute to initiatives that enhance the effectiveness of the filings function

What you need to have:
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience
- 5 years of experience in insurance rate and form filings, with significant focus on ISO-based products
- Deep knowledge of ISO commercial lines manuals, circulars, loss costs, and regulatory practices
- Proven ability to interpret complex filing requirements and develop effective filing strategies
- Demonstrated experience managing complex filings and resolving filing objections
- Strong analytical and critical thinking skills with the ability to navigate ambiguity
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to clearly convey technical information
- Ability to operate independently with minimal direction while managing multiple priorities and deadlines
- Experience serving as a technical lead or subject matter expert within a regulatory or filings function
- Demonstrated success in improving processes or leading initiatives
- Advanced experience with SERFF, FilingRamp, IRFS, or similar filing systems
- Hybrid work model: in-office 3 days per week
