Position Overview
AXIOS Industrial Solutions, LLC is seeking hard working, safety focused individuals to join our team as Barge Tank Cleaners. This role is responsible for the cleaning and maintenance of inland barges and tanks, including the removal of hydrocarbon residue and sludge from DL barges.
This is a physically demanding position that requires working in confined spaces, hot environments, and industrial conditions. The right candidate is dependable, motivated, and committed to safety and quality work.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform manual cleaning of barge tanks and compartments
- Use high pressure washers, hot water/steam (red hose systems) to clean internal tank surfaces
- Scrape and remove hydrocarbon buildup, sludge, and residue from the bottoms of barges
- Assist with setup and breakdown of cleaning equipment
- Follow all confined space entry procedures and safety protocols
- Maintain awareness of hazardous conditions, PPE requirements, and ventilation
- Work as part of a crew to meet production and vessel turnaround schedules
- Maintain a clean and organized work environment on site
Qualifications
- Prior experience in tank cleaning, barge cleaning, hydroblasting, or industrial cleaning preferred
- Must be physically capable of heavy labor in hot, humid, and confined environments
- Comfortable working inside tanks and tight spaces
- Ability to work long hours (12-hour shifts, 48–60 hours weekly)
- Strong commitment to safety and teamwork
- Reliable transportation and ability to report to job sites
Experience:
- Barge Cleaning : 1 year (Required)
License/Certification:
- Confined Space Certification (Preferred)
