Reports To: Branch Manager
Who we are:
AXion Logistics is a 3rd Party Logistics (3PL) provider with a focus on the petrochemical industry. We have worked to develop strong relationships with the Petrochemical Industry and the supporting Engineering, Procurement & Construction (EPC) companies; Integrated Material Suppliers; and General Mechanical providers. AXion has proven, effective processes and technologies. We have the experience and understanding required to efficiently manage routine Maintenance, Repair, and Operating (MRO) materials, order spares, manage inbound delivery and receipt, provide preservation and maintenance services, and the dispositioning of surplus or obsolete material and equipment.
Position Purpose:
The AXion Dispatch Tech will serve as the key link between our warehouse, delivery drivers, freight brokers, shippers, and customers.
Duties & Responsibilities:
Axion’s Dispatch Tech will:
· Handling high call volumes with polite professionalism.
· Utilize AXion’s Datatrac system.
· Provide escalated customer support as needed.
· Proactively communicate with customers, both written and orally.
· Working hours are Monday – Friday 7:30am to 4:30pm.
· Pre-job safety hazard awareness (STAC).
· Check inventory and order material based on predetermined schedule.
· Operate forklifts to safely load and unload materials and manage material securement activities.
· Minimize the probability of stock-outs.
· Verify incoming material for accuracy.
· Good receipt of inbound zone store material.
· Expediting of zone store materials.
· Housekeeping of assigned bin sites/zone stores.
Qualifications:
The ideal candidate will possess:
· Valid Driver’s License
· Knowledge of the freight carried in and out of petrochemical plants and familiar with the petrochemical suppliers.
· Microsoft Office experience.
· Ability to prioritize and multitask.
· Knowledge of Baton Rouge and surrounding areas.
· Pass a Functional Assessment verifying their ability to kneel, squat, lift and carry 50lbs, climb ladders, etc.
· Dispatch experience, including dispatch systems and software is a plus.
· Knowledge of DOT/FMCSA regulations is a plus.
