Position Summary
The Registered Nurse (RN) – Night Shift is responsible for providing comprehensive nursing care to residents at Lone Tree Retirement Community during overnight hours. This role ensures resident safety, clinical stability, and continuity of care while maintaining compliance with all state, federal, and facility regulations.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide direct nursing care to residents in accordance with physician orders, care plans, and facility policies
- Perform resident assessments, monitor conditions, and respond to changes in status during night hours
- Administer medications and treatments accurately and safely
- Ensure proper documentation of assessments, interventions, and resident outcomes in the medical record
- Respond to emergencies, call lights, and resident needs promptly and professionally
- Supervise and support LPNs, CNAs, or other nursing staff on night shift as assigned
- Communicate effectively with on-call providers and leadership regarding resident concerns or changes
- Ensure compliance with infection control, safety protocols, and overnight security procedures
- Provide handoff reports to day shift nursing staff to ensure continuity of care
- Maintain a calm, supportive, and resident-centered environment during overnight hours
Qualifications
- Current and active Registered Nurse (RN) license in the state of Kansas
- Graduate of an accredited nursing program (ADN or BSN preferred)
- Current BLS certification (ACLS preferred, if applicable)
- Strong assessment, critical-thinking, and decision-making skills
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
- Excellent communication and leadership skills
Preferred Experience
- Experience in long-term care, skilled nursing, or geriatric care preferred
- Familiarity with electronic medical records (EMR) systems
Physical Requirements
- Ability to stand, walk, bend, lift, and assist residents as needed
- Ability to work scheduled night shifts, including weekends and holidays as required
