Position Summary
The Maintenance Director is responsible for operations at Lone Tree Retirement Community. This role ensures a clean, safe, sanitary, and welcoming environment for residents, staff, and visitors while maintaining compliance with state, federal, and facility regulations.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and implement cleaning schedules, procedures, and infection control protocols
- Ensure compliance with all applicable health, safety, and regulatory standards (including KDADS and CMS guidelines)
- Conduct routine inspections of resident rooms, common areas, and facility grounds to ensure cleanliness and safety
- Order, manage, and maintain inventory of cleaning supplies, equipment, and chemicals
- Ensure proper use, storage, and disposal of cleaning agents and hazardous materials
- Collaborate with administration, nursing, maintenance, and other departments to support resident care and facility operations
- Respond promptly to resident and staff concerns regarding environmental services
- Maintain accurate records, reports, and documentation as required
- Participate in facility meetings, quality assurance, and emergency preparedness planning
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent required; associate degree or related training preferred
- Previous experience in environmental services preferably in a long-term care or healthcare setting
- Knowledge of infection control, OSHA standards, and safety regulations
- Strong leadership, organizational, and communication skills
- Ability to train, motivate, and supervise staff effectively
- Ability to manage budgets and control departmental costs
- Proficiency with basic computer systems and documentation
Physical Requirements
- Ability to stand, walk, bend, lift, and push equipment for extended periods
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds as needed
- Ability to work flexible hours, including occasional weekends or on-call as needed
