Job Title: Maintenance Director

Job Location: Mount Vernon, Illinois

Job Summary:

We are seeking a skilled and experienced Maintenance Director to join our team in Mount Vernon. The primary purpose of this role is to plan, organize, develop, and direct the overall operation of the Maintenance Department, ensuring the facility is maintained in a safe and comfortable manner. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for supervising maintenance staff, coordinating maintenance services, and implementing preventive maintenance programs.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

• Plan, develop, organize, implement, evaluate, and direct the Maintenance Department, its programs, and activities.
• Coordinate maintenance services and activities with other related departments.
• Assist in establishing a preventive maintenance program.
• Repair facility/resident property as necessary.
• Inspect storage rooms, workrooms, utility/janitorial closets, etc., for upkeep and supply control.
• Participate in facility surveys (inspections) made by authorized government agencies.
• Keep abreast of economic conditions/situations and recommend adjustments in maintenance services.
• Perform administrative duties, such as completing necessary forms, reports, evaluations, studies, etc.
  
  
  

Qualifications:

• High school education or its equivalent.
• Minimum of 3 years of experience in a supervisory capacity, in a maintenance/plant related position.
• Knowledge of boilers, compressors, generators, electrical, and plumbing systems.
• Ability to read and interpret blueprints.
• Knowledge of building codes and safety regulations.
• Must be licensed in accordance with current applicable standards, codes, labor laws, etc.
• Ability to read, write, speak, and understand the English language.
• Ability to make independent decisions and deal tactfully with personnel, residents, family members, visitors, and the general public.
