We are currently accepting applications for an internship with our Accounts Payable and Accounting department. This is a 6 month paid internship - 30 hours/week
The Accounts Payable & Accounting Intern will support the daily operations of the Accounts Payable and Accounting teams while gaining hands-on experience in financial processes and business systems. This role provides exposure to invoice management, vendor communications, document processing, accounting support activities, and special projects. The internship is designed to provide a broad understanding of accounting operations and financial best practices.
Primary Responsibilities
- Open, sort, scan, and distribute incoming mail and invoices.
- Monitor the Accounts Payable mailbox and assist with routing inquiries and invoices to appropriate team members.
- Review and forward invoices through Coupa for processing.
- Assist with vendor statement reviews and follow-up activities.
- Download utility invoices and ensure timely submission for payment processing.
- Learn and assist with invoice entry and coding procedures.
- Maintain electronic records and supporting documentation.
- Support the Accounting team with administrative and accounting-related tasks.
- Assist with special projects, reporting, and process improvement initiatives as assigned.
- Adhere to company policies regarding confidentiality and financial controls
Experience and Education
Required:
- Currently pursuing a Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or a related field.
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
- Excellent organizational and time-management skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, including Outlook and Excel.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
Preferred:
- Prior coursework in Accounting or Finance.
- Familiarity with ERP or invoice management systems is a plus.
- Interest in pursuing a career in Accounting, Finance, or Business Operations.
