Position Overview
We are seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Assistant Project Manager (APM) to support the planning, coordination, and execution of construction projects on behalf of our clients. As part of an Owner’s Representative team, the APM will act as an advocate for the owner, helping ensure projects are delivered on time, within budget, and to the highest quality standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist Project Managers in overseeing all phases of construction projects, from pre-construction through closeout
- Coordinate with architects, engineers, contractors, and other stakeholders to track progress and resolve issues
- Maintain project schedules, budgets, and documentation on behalf of the owner
- Support procurement processes, including bid packaging, contractor selection, and contract administration
- Review project drawings, specifications, and submittals for consistency and completeness
- Monitor construction progress through site visits and prepare field reports
- Track and manage RFIs, change orders, and project risks
- Prepare regular status reports and presentations for clients
- Ensure compliance with contracts, local regulations, and safety standards
- Utilize project management tools, including Smartsheet, to track schedules, workflows, and reporting
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Engineering, Architecture, or a related field
- 1–4 years of experience in construction project management, preferably with an owner’s rep firm, general contractor, or consulting environment
- Required: Hands-on experience using Smartsheet for project tracking, scheduling, or reporting
- Strong understanding of construction processes, documentation, and project lifecycle
- Excellent organizational, analytical, and communication skills
- Ability to manage multiple tasks and prioritize effectively in a fast-paced environment
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint); familiarity with Procore, Bluebeam, or similar tools is a plus
Salary : $85,000 - $110,000
