We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Auto Body Technician to join our dynamic automotive repair team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in auto body repair, fabrication, and automotive restoration, with experience working in dealership environments preferred. This role involves repairing, restoring, and maintaining vehicles to the highest standards, utilizing a variety of tools and techniques to ensure customer satisfaction and vehicle safety. The position offers an opportunity to work with advanced equipment and develop your skills in auto painting, welding, and vehicle maintenance.
Responsibilities
- Repair and restore vehicle bodies using hand tools, power tools, welding equipment, and sheet metal fabrication techniques
- Perform auto body repairs including dent removal, panel replacement, sanding, and detailing
- Conduct auto painting using airless paint spraying techniques to achieve a high-quality finish
- Replace or repair auto glass and perform auto glass installation as needed
- Utilize MIG welding, soldering, and other welding methods for fabrication and structural repairs
- Assist with auto restoration projects by fabricating custom parts and restoring vintage vehicles
- Maintain accurate documentation of repairs and communicate effectively with customers regarding work performed
- Ensure all repairs meet safety standards and manufacturer specifications
- Keep work area clean, organized, and compliant with safety regulations
Experience
- Prior dealership / body shop experience highly preferred
- Proficiency in MIG welding, sheet metal work, auto painting, and auto glass installation
- Strong mechanical knowledge of automotive systems and vehicle maintenance procedures
- Experience with auto estimating software is a plus
- Familiarity with auto body repair techniques including sanding, detailing, assembly, and heavy lifting required for certain tasks
- Hands-on experience with power tools, airless paint spraying, soldering, and fabrication processes
- Knowledge of automotive repair standards and customer service skills are desirable
- Previous experience in auto restoration or classic car repair is advantageous
