Duties
- Safely operate flatbed trucks with manual transmissions to transport freight across designated routes within the local region
- Proper securing of loads on flatbed trailers
- Conduct thorough pre-trip and post-trip inspections to verify vehicle safety and compliance with FMCSA and hazardous materials regulations
- Utilize GPS navigation systems for efficient route planning and real-time navigation adjustments
- Follow all DOT and hazardous materials regulations when transporting dangerous goods or refrigerated trailers
- Maintain accurate delivery documentation, logs, and reports in compliance with company policies and regulatory standards
- Communicate effectively with dispatchers and customers to coordinate deliveries and resolve any logistical issues promptly
Skills
- Proven experience in commercial truck driving, especially with flatbed trailers and tanker loads
- Proficiency in operating manual transmission trucks safely and efficiently
- Knowledge of FMCSA, DOT regulations, hazardous materials handling, and dangerous goods transportation standards
- Strong route driving skills utilizing GPS navigation for timely deliveries within local areas
- Experience with refrigerated trailers and logistics cargo handling preferred
- Excellent driving record with a focus on safety, compliance, and customer service excellence
