What are the responsibilities and job description for the Senior Director, GPU Supply and Strategic Partnerships (GPU Supply / Infrastructure) position at Axe Compute?
The Role
We are hiring a senior director to build, scale, and lead a global GPU supply organization as we have more active enterprise demand than we can currently fill organically.
This role is responsible for sourcing, securing, and activating NVIDIA GPU capacity at scale, which means finding the prospects, building the relationships, creating the deal structures, and hiring the internal team that will make that happen. You will operate at the C-level with data center operators and AI infrastructure owners, move quickly when supply becomes available, and build a function from the ground up.
We need someone who can source, engage, and close supply in a way that scales.
What You’ll Do
Supply Team Leadership and Market position
- Own and develop strategic relationships with data center operators, GPU neoclouds, colocation providers, bare metal providers and AI infrastructure owners at the executive level
- Represent the company externally as a senior supply-side leader, building durable partnerships that create preferential access and pricing advantage
- Contribute to defining company’s position in the market ecosystem
- Build, manage, and develop a high-performing supply team responsible for day-to-day sourcing, qualification, and activation of GPU capacity
- Define team structure, workflows, and KPIs; establish repeatable systems for onboarding and managing supply partners at scale
- Coach and develop team members to operate with speed, technical depth, and commercial judgment
Supply Strategy and Execution
- Set supply strategy across geographies (US, EU, APAC), architectures (GB300, B300, H100, H200, and emerging GPUs like Vera Rubin), and deployment environments
- Build and leverage a global network of GPU providers, including data centers, GPU neoclouds, bare metal operators, and AI infrastructure owners
- Work directly with sales and solutions engineering to fulfill active pipeline by matching workload requirements (region, GPU, quantity, prepayment, price target) with available infrastructure
- Evaluate infrastructure in detail, including network fabric (InfiniBand vs. RoCE vs. Ethernet), cluster topology, shared storage availability, CPU node availability, internet speeds, SLAs, and deployment readiness
- Track real-time market pricing, regional supply dynamics, and availability constraints; act quickly to secure advantaged supply
- Structure and negotiate commercial agreements, including pricing models, contract terms, SLAs, support, and where relevant, exclusivity or priority access
- Identify and unlock non-obvious or underutilized sources of GPU capacity
- Build repeatable systems for sourcing, onboarding, and activating supply partners at scale, including automation of outreach using AI tools
- Partner with leadership to shape supply strategy, including geographic expansion, supplier concentration, and margin optimization
What Success Looks Like
- A cohesive, high-performing supply team operating with speed and precision
- Strategic data center and AI infrastructure relationships that create durable, differentiated access to GPU capacity
- Consistently securing high-quality GPU supply that meets technical and commercial requirements of active deals
- Increasing win rates and deal velocity through reliable, responsive supply coverage
- Building a diversified, global supply base across architectures and regions
- Achieving pricing advantage while maintaining long-term supplier relationships
- Creating structural edge through access to scarce or differentiated capacity
What Sets This Role Apart
- Immediately satisfy tangible and significant demand - see success early, gain early insights and learnings now
- Opportunity to build out a “self-service” commission structure to secure a portion of topline revenue from sourced supply
- Direct accountability for building a team and function — not just executing within one
- High visibility and impact on revenue, margin, and company growth
- The opportunity to shape a durable competitive advantage through relationships, strategy, and organizational excellence
