The Senior Managing Director is a senior-level business development and relationship management role responsible for expanding Axcelus Financial’s presence among financial advisors serving domestic and international high-net-worth (HNW) clients. This individual will drive revenue growth by sourcing new relationships, deepening existing partnerships, and delivering education on sophisticated wealth and insurance solutions.
Responsibilities
- Build, grow, and manage a national book of business with asset Managers, financial advisors, RIAs, life insurance agents, and other intermediaries.
- Identify, source, and cultivate new relationships within the UHNW advisory ecosystem.
- Develop and maintain a robust pipeline of qualified prospects and opportunities.
- Educate advisors on Axcelus’ solutions, including PPLI, PPVA, GVA, GVUL and the corresponding IDF, VIT, and SMA investment platform offerings.
- Partner closely with internal teams (Investments, operations, legal & compliance, marketing, and client service) to ensure seamless execution and implementation.
- Maintain accurate and disciplined tracking of pre-pipeline opportunities, as well as partner account maintenance in CRM.
- Proven success in outbound sales and business development within financial services.
- Demonstrated track record of consistently achieving or exceeding revenue targets.
- Deep understanding of UHNW client needs and advisor-driven distribution models.
- Experience with advanced planning concepts, including insurance-based strategies and charitable planning.
- Strong communication, presentation, and relationship-building skills.
- Highly motivated self-starter with a strong sense of ownership and accountability.Ability to operate independently with minimal oversight while thriving in a collaborative environment.
- 7 years of experience in financial services sales that directly aligns with the specific responsibilities for this position.
- Series 6 or 7 and 63 securities licenses.
- Variable Insurance license.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Excel, PowerPoint, Dynamics 365 CRM experience preferred).
- 30-40% travel time required.
