Underwriting Manager Multinational Incoming, Casualty

Global Insurance Programs are central to AXA XL’s offering to clients and its international businesses manage over 5000 programs worldwide arranging over 35,000 policies. The offering spans across all lines of business and our network is one of the largest carrier networks with over 200 countries and territories. Offering compliant US Local policies for our international customers as part of their Global Programs requires a Casualty Underwriting skillset with a robust focus on US Regulatory, Forms (ISO and proprietary), Operations and Process.

What You’ll Be DOING

What will your essential responsibilities include?

• Manage and develop a team of Multinational Incoming Casualty/Reverse Flow Underwriters
• Active day to day Underwriting of incoming Casualty/Reverse Flow accounts, working closely with Producing Underwriters and US Brokers
• Underwriting referrals point for Casualty/Reverse Flow Incoming Team, including further referral to US Casualty CUO as needed
• Manage the incoming process from Quote Request to policy issuance in close cooperation with Operations
• Deliver continuous improvement and efficiencies in the process - across Producing Office, Incoming (UW and Operations) and our Shared Services teams
• Educate International Underwriters on the US market, regulation, product and process
• Establish a trusted relationship with both the US and International Casualty CUO’s and regional/country managers
• Continuously review the Incoming Casualty/Reverse Flow forms and drive changes in close co-ordination with Legal & Compliance and the Domestic Casualty forms specialists
• Primary point of contact for US Producers on Casualty topics
  
  

You will report to the Head of US Incoming with a matrix to the Casualty Americas CUO.

What You Will BRING

The ideal candidate would have the following abilities and skills:

• Bachelor’s degree and extensive US Underwriting experience - with at least some to moderate in a management role
• Demonstrated robust Underwriting discipline and regulatory compliance
• Outstanding focus on operational execution (meeting SLAs for both timeliness and quality)
• Proven record in Change Management with robust logical skills and brave to challenge and question processes and content
• Great sense of collaboration and working in a cross-cultural environment including Europe and India
• Excellent analytical skills and decision-making skills.
• Outstanding communication, marketing, presentation, and negotiation skills.
• Ability to develop and maintain relationships with customers, producers and trading partners.
• Solid personal direction and time management skills.

The U.S. base salary range for this position is USD 133,000 - 233,000.

Actual pay will be determined based upon the individual’s skills, experience and location. We strive for market alignment and internal equity with our colleagues’ pay.
