The SDI Risk Manager will drive development, implementation, and execution of committed strategies to manage SDI portfolio risks for long-term and sustainable profitability. Included as part of this role is the buildout of an SDI risk management offshore team that supports core processes focused on mitigating SDI portfolio risks.
What you’ll be doing
What will your essential responsibilities include?
- 1st line risk management: Serve as point of contact for Credit Risk team (2nd line) on all matters of SDI program management, including internal referrals/escalations. Clarify and document all updated processes associated with 1st line and 2nd line collaboration, process improvements, and referrals. Communicate and support all 1st line risk management practices, including but not limited to: Oversight and management of prequal/financial file acquisition and reviews for top aggregated subs; Identification of elevated risks, prescribed actions, and follow up by SDI team; oversight and management of prequal/financial file review reports to insureds.
- Exposure and Data management : Responsible for Sub aggregation data processes: Work with brokers on initial revisions to data requirements; Quarterly acquisition/compilation of Sub details; and ongoing compliance with data requirements; Evolve internal processes to receive updated reports and produce reliable sub aggregation data into a usable format for the SDI team; Evolve reports that provide insights for SDI risk management; this includes Internal to AXA XL and external for our brokers/customers. Perform oversight of Systems/Data team in the continued evolution of our systems/processes
- Underwriting Strategy: Implement increased referral/audit requirements. Serve as member of Credit Committee Team and SDI Leadership team. Be the Subject Matter Expert on referrals, including:
- Maintain the financial review standard and consistency of the process.
- Ensure financial due diligence procedures of the process are followed;
- Communicate templates and best practices to the UW/RE teams;
- Train team on the process.
- Build and lead team to execute on the above: Initially anticipated to be one offshore hire focused on sub aggregation data management and cleanup (real time basis) improving data quality/timeliness and the aggregation processes (i.e. data processor/analyst) and adding efficiency/timeliness to referral and audit processes
- Drive though leadership and industry insight on behalf of the SDI Team by attendance at key events and leadership of critical initiatives such as: CFMA, IRMI, SDI Risk Topics, SDI Continuing Education/training, and engagement with Prequalification Partners.
- Account Underwriting and Relationship Management - support the SDI business via assigned underwriting and relationship management responsibilities.
What you’ll bring
We are looking for someone who has these abilities and skills:
- Demonstrated experience and competency in Underwriting the SDI product, such that you are able to apply practical experience to overall SDI risk management processes.
- CPA (or equivalent), with demonstrated experience and competency in construction company financial analysis.
- Demonstrated experience performing prequalification and financial analysis for a contractor SDI program is preferred.
- Experience with the existing SDI broker network to facilitate communications regarding reporting and risk management.
- Work self-directed with the ability to apply critical thinking/decision making, develop and comply with processes, and develop/apply data analytics to inform management decisions.
- Process driven focus with ability to lead others in compilation and analysis of complex financial and operational information and data.
- Excellent written and oral communication skills to work with internal SDI team, SDI leadership, Credit Risk, and AXA XL leadership as you will work in a team environment to achieve established directives.
- Outstanding organizational, time-management and multi-tasking skills.
- Outstanding comprehension and work experience with Microsoft Office Suite, applying data analytic tools and AI.
- Willingness to travel (approximately 25% travel as necessary) within broad geographic territory
