Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Veterinary Technician to join our compassionate veterinary team. The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in animal care and veterinary procedures, with a passion for providing exceptional pet healthcare. As a Veterinary Technician, you will support our veterinarians in clinical tasks, assist with patient care, and ensure the highest standards of safety and hygiene. Your expertise will contribute to delivering comprehensive veterinary services that promote animal well-being and client satisfaction.
Duties
- Assist veterinarians with clinical examinations, diagnostics, and surgical procedures, ensuring adherence to aseptic techniques.
- Perform animal restraint and handling for various species, including dogs, cats, and equines, ensuring safety for both animals and staff.
- Conduct laboratory tests such as blood work, urinalysis, and other diagnostic procedures to support accurate diagnosis and treatment plans.
- Maintain detailed medical records of animal patients, documenting treatments, procedures, and observations accurately.
- Prepare animals for surgery or diagnostic imaging by administering sedation or anesthesia as needed; manage animal catheterization and post-operative care.
- Provide pet care services including grooming, feeding, and monitoring pet behavior to ensure comfort and health.
- Assist with dental procedures by understanding dental terminology and performing routine dental cleanings under veterinarian supervision.
- Support animal husbandry activities such as feeding, cleaning enclosures, and monitoring physical health indicators like animal physiology and anatomy knowledge.
- Operate radiography equipment (X-ray) to obtain diagnostic images while maintaining strict aseptic protocols.
Qualifications
- Proven experience as a Veterinary Technician or in a similar veterinary support role with familiarity in veterinary terminology.
- Strong knowledge of animal anatomy, physiology, and pet care best practices.
- Experience working with laboratory diagnostics, X-ray imaging, and aseptic techniques in a veterinary setting.
- Kennel experience along with dog & cat handling skills
- Demonstrated ability to perform animal catheterization and restraint effectively across different species.
- Excellent animal handling skills
- Ability to work efficiently in high-pressure situations while maintaining attention to detail in all tasks.
